Epping Leisure Centre Opening
The new Epping Leisure Centre will officially open its doors on Monday 12 January 2026 at 9 am.
The state-of-the-art facility, located in Bakers Lane in the heart of Epping, replaces the existing sports centre on Hemnall Street and forms a central part of the town’s wider regeneration programme. The new centre promises modern fitness spaces, improved accessibility, and enhanced leisure facilities for residents.
Connect Futures Workshops January & February 2026
Connect Futures are holding two workshops around online space and how it impacts on children, young people and older people, with sessions in January and February 2026. See below.
One is aimed at helping parents to better understand what is meant by mis/disinformation, recognise hate online and ways to talk to children about what they are seeing online.
The other workshop is concerned with older adults and how to help them to learn about the common tricks used in misleading posts, viral rumours and emotionally charged content as well as how scams, fraud, and misinformation often overlap – and of course how to keep themselves safe.
