Creativity and Sports award nominations now open

Epping Forest District residents looking to start a career in nursing, are encouraged to sign up for a free training programme offering a pathway to employment at The Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Recognise and support our district’s inspirational, up-and-coming young creative and sporting talents and help them develop their skills by nominating them. Winners, chosen by a panel of judges, will receive up to £500 to spend on their chosen discipline. The Creativity Award can help boost creative skills and the Active Epping Forest Sports Award can be used for costs associated with the sporting activity.

All applicants must:

• Be aged between 13 and 25 years
• Live in the Epping Forest District – including being at college or university and returning home to the district during holidays
• Demonstrate their commitment to their area of interest – volunteering, education, exhibitions, performance or any other activity
• Explain how the award will be used to develop their talent
• Show how the award would benefit the local community for the creativity award
• Compete at county, regional or national level in a nationally governed sport for the sports award

Applications close on Sunday 3 January 2027.

New Bench at Nazeing Crossroads

We’d love you to join us for a celebration to Jeanne Goodwin and all our wonderful Nazeing Together volunteers.

The much-loved bench at Nazeing Crossroads has kindly been replaced by EFDC, and the Goodwin family now have Jeanne’s memorial plaque ready to be put back in place.

So, on Friday 16th October at 6pm, we’ll gather around the bench as the plaque is replaced and take a moment to remember Jeanne.

Then we’ll take a short stroll down to The Crooked Billet to raise a glass in her honour — and to celebrate the amazing Nazeing Together volunteers who do so much for our community.

Everyone is welcome — Nazeing Together volunteers and any local residents who would like to join us.

We hope to see you there!

The Essex County Council (Jasmine Place, Nazeing) (Epping Forest District) (20mph Zone) Order 2026 (TRAF/8866) 

Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council has made the above Order under Sections 84(1)(a) and (2) and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended). With effect from 10th September 2026.

Effect of The Order: Implement: ‘a ‘20mph Zone’ on the following length of road, in the District of Epping Forest:

Jasmine Place – From its junction with Pecks Hill generally east for its entire length including side roads and turning heads.
