Food and garden waste collections are changing
Households will receive new brown kerbside and kitchen caddies for food waste, which will be collected weekly. The existing green-lidded wheelie bin will be used for garden waste only and collected fortnightly. The new subscription service will start from Tuesday 31 March 2026. You can apply for the yearly subscription from 1 February 2026.
Residents who wish to continue to have their garden waste collected will pay a yearly charge for the service and continue to use their current green-lidded bin. There is no set up fee. The proposed annual subscription fee for 1 green-lidded bin is £60.
You can find information on the changes on our Changes to your food and garden bin service page.
