The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while Essex County Council undertakes kerb replacement.
Garden Waste Collection subscription for elderly residents in Nazeing
EFDC have made the following arrangements for residents who are unable to access services online are fully supported. They are providing telephone assistance via the Council’s Contact Centre on 01992 564000, where members of their Customer Services Team can help residents with their garden waste subscription during our office hours:
Monday to Thursday: 9:00am – 5:15pm and Friday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
In addition, residents can visit the Civic Offices in Epping during office hours, where the Welcome Area staff are available to provide face‑to‑face support and assist with the process.
Food caddy rollout begins
The food caddies have started to be delivered to households across the district. This service will start on 31st March 2026.
Each household will receive a 7-litre kitchen caddy for collecting food scraps indoors and a 23-litre kerbside caddy for placing food waste outside for collection
Both caddies are free of charge. Residents can request more than one kerbside caddy from 31 March 2026. Additional caddies may incur a small charge.
Do not put food waste in your garden or general waste bin after 31 March 2026, this could result in your bin not being emptied. See link below for further info.

Fewer people are using concessionary bus passes (that let people aged 66+ and people with certain disabilities use the bus for free between 9am and midnight on weekdays and all weekend) than before. Essex County Council want to understand what the reasons are, and what solutions they could consider to get more people using the bus.
