Have your say on the new polling station proposals in the Epping Forest district. Take part in our Interim Polling Station Consultation.
The consultation is open until 5pm on Friday 11 September 2026. We want to ensure that our plans are supported by residents, stakeholders and the community at large.
The (Acting) Returning Officer for Epping Forest has considered the following factors, location, size, availability and accessibility and intends to make the following change.
- Current venue: St Peter’s Church Hall, High Street, Roydon, CM19 5EF
- Ward: Roydon & Lower Nazeing
- Number of electors registered: 397
- Proposed alternative venue for elections from 2027: St Christopher’s Hall, Dobbs Weir Road, Dobbs Weir, EN11 0BE
- Miles apart: 2.9
- Travel time by car: 8 minutes
- Reason: St Christopher’s Hall, Dobbs Weir Road, Dobbs Weir has now been renovated and is now fit for purpose. It is proposed to move back to this polling station which is within the polling district.

The Lions are ‘On the Loose’!
The Lions on the Loose art trail is now live, see how many of these fantastic lions can you find in Epping, Loughton and Harlow.
A pride of 32 colourfully decorated, super-size Lion sculptures is roaming Epping, Loughton and Harlow until September, providing un-fur-gettable fun for all of the family, bringing colour, creativity, and community spirit to the streets. Each sculpture is sponsored by a local business or organisation and has been uniquely decorated by talented artists from across the region. Lions on the Loose is proudly presented by St Clare Hospice, in partnership with Wild in Art.

What will happen to the lions?
The Farewell Weekend is your chance to see the entire pride of lions together in one place for the very last time before they head to auction, on 19 and 20 September 2026 from 9am to 4pm, at Passmores Academy, Tracyes Road, Harlow CM18 6JH
The pride of lions will be finding their forever home going under the hammer at Auction to raise vital funds for St Clare Hospice. The auction will be held both in person, with the option to bid online for those unable to attend. On 24 September 2026, at 6.30pm, at Saint Nicholas School, Hillingdon House, Hobbs Cross Road, Old Harlow CM17 0NJ

Environmental Enforcement Officers use yellow sacks to target fly-tippers
Bright yellow sacks are being used by Environmental Enforcement Officers to highlight waste that is being investigated at fly-tips on estates across Epping Forest District.
The purpose of the distinctive sacks is to send a message to residents/tenants that fly-tipped waste can be traced and will almost certainly lead to enforcement action.
Within the Epping Forest District the current maximum fixed penalty notice for fly-tipped domestic waste is £1000, however if a case is taken to prosecution, then courts are able to issue unlimited fines and or up to 5 years imprisonment.

Residents can find information and advice on how to dispose of household waste responsibly, including reuse, recycling and using licensed waste carriers, on the Love Essex website.
