Update: Roadside litter clearing planned

Planned roadworks are in place this week while litter picking is carried out on various routes across the district.

Road users are advised to plan ahead, allow extra time for journeys and follow any diversion signs in place while the work is completed.
Planned schedule:

• Wednesday 15 July: Sedge Green and Hamlet Hill, Roydon – 2-way traffic lights will be in place
• Thursday 16 and Friday 17 July: Crooked Mile, Holyfield Road and Waltham Road, Waltham Abbey – 2-way traffic lights will be in place

These roadworks allow the Terra Verde Services Ltd crews to work safely on routes that are difficult to clear regularly because of how busy and hazardous they can be.

Parking fine scam warning

The message appears to be from a debt collecting company and looks genuine by including reference numbers and links asking for payment. EFDC Council does not send text messages about parking fines to residents. Parking fines are issued by civil enforcement officers via a PCN on the vehicle dashboard, or by post to the address of the vehicle’s registered keeper.

If a message makes you suspicious:

  • Stop – don’t click on any links, or use any numbers or addresses in the message
  • Contact the organisation directly – go online and use the details on their official website
  • Report the suspicious message to Action Fraud – call 0300 123 2040 or use the online fraud reporting tool
  • Go with your gut: If something feels off, it probably is. You can hang up, delete, or walk away from a suspicious situation

Never share personal information: Be cautious about sharing personal or financial information. Legitimate organisations will never ask for sensitive information through unsolicited communications.
