Waste collection changes in 2 weeks

The final mixed food and garden waste collections will take place next week between Monday 23 and Friday 27 March.

Separate your waste and use your kerbside food caddy

Following your final mixed collection, residents will need to separate food and garden waste into the correct containers:

  • Food waste must be placed in the brown kerbside caddy for weekly collection
  • Garden waste will be collected fortnightly – it will only be collected from green-lidded bins displaying a valid subscription permit

Putting food or garden waste in your blue-lidded recycling or black refuse bins, or food waste in your green-lidded bin, will contaminate the bin. This will result in the contaminated bin not being collected.

The caddy is for food waste only, including fruit and vegetable peelings, cooked and uncooked food, meat, fish, dairy, eggshells and plate scrapings. It is designed with a locking handle and closefitting lid. When the handle is raised and locked, it helps reduce spills and prevent pests such as foxes, birds and rodents from getting in.

Garden waste subscription

There is still time to sign up for the garden waste subscription service.

Permits will be issued upon subscription and sent by post. Please allow at least 14 working days for your permit sticker to arrive. The subscription is optional. If you do not subscribe, you can:

Introducing a subscription will help ensure the service remains available to residents who value and use it most.
